How often do we see grown men kicking a ball with their mates on the green or in the park and not think anything of it? But if you saw the same fellas having a good swing for themselves, what would you think? Its is basically the same thing....playing. Just because we pass the age of 18, all of a sudden certain 'play' is ok while others are not. The importance of play, for both physical and mental wellbeing shouldn't be underestimated. The power of having a laugh, or just feeling free for a bit is huge.

The key findings in two recent studies were that engaging in play - Increased life satisfaction, enhanced the ability to cope with stress and adversity, promoted overall well being and improved relationships. The authors of these studies are Kathy Lubbers et al (2023) and Brauer et al (2024). We have all got to just let it go sometimes, whatever 'it' it is. We all need to stop being so judgemental of ourselves and of others. We all have to stop worrying so much about what other's will think of us and just....swing..
